The Scheduler develops and manages the project schedules for mid-rise and high-rise residential projects. They are responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating project schedules to ensure our projects are completed on time and within budget. The Scheduler is a detail-oriented problem solver with the ability handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong oral and written communication skills are key. This role is hybrid in Toronto or Kitchener-Waterloo/Stratford and will require occasional travel to sites.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Work in collaboration with Project Managers and other Stakeholders to understand project requirements, timelines, objectives, and scope. Develop detailed project schedules, including start and finish dates, for each phase on the construction project, creating detailed project scheduled using industry standard software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project) for all phases of construction.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, such as labour, materials, equipment, etc, efficiently across various projects and project tasks to ensure that work progresses on schedule.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks that may impact project timeline. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks, losses, or disruptions to the schedule.
  • Monitoring and Updating: Provide updates on project schedules throughout the project lifecycle, and monitor progress of activities against the planned schedule. Communicate updates in regular virtual or in-person meetings.
  • Reporting: Generate and distribute weekly and monthly progress reports, including Gantt charts, critical path analysis, and schedule variance updates.
  • Onsite Support: Occasionally visit project sites to monitor progress, attend site meetings, and provide assistance as needed. Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in project review meetings and contribute ideas for improving project management and project scheduling processes and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in a planning and scheduling role for mid-rise and high-rise residential construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of field construction operations, construction specifics, building materials, and scheduling software
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and relevant regulations in Ontario.
  • Certification from AACEI (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) or PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional) would be an asset.
